It’s been a hot dry summer! Here at Earl Haig Retirement Residence we are proud to be located in beautiful British Columbia, but we’re certainly not used to THIS kind of British Columbia! Living in a rainforest definitely has its perks, and in order to enjoy the lush green seasons we have all year, we need the rainfall to support it. Very few people in our retirement community or anyone growing up on the west coast of British Columbia has ever seen the likes of such a dry summer! What to speak of the forest fires. It’s an official drought.
The United States is in a drought of their own, and we are giving them a lot of our water to help them through it; that along with everything else is definitely taking a toll on our water systems and supply. So, YES! It’s time to conserve as much as possible, and we’re here to help point you in the right direction!
Did you know BC residents use more water than any other province in Canada!? Seeing as we need to conserve it most for the protection of our rain forests, let’s do what we can!
Here is a short, informative video for your reference on different easy ways you can help conserve.

Another thing you can do in the home to help would be to save your toilet flushes for every second ‘number 1’.
Have a great day, and let’s all encourage one another to ensure we take care of our Beautiful British Columbia! Interested in seeing our beautiful Earl Haig Retirement Residence! Come on over! We’d love to meet you!
